Comment policy

Because this blog is aimed at soliciting feedback, we want your comments. However, we ask that the comments relate to the Resources for Researchers section of our website and follow the rules of engagement below.

This is a moderated blog – we will review all comments before posting them.

  • We expect that participants will treat each other with respect.
  • We will not post comments that contain vulgar language, personal attacks, or offensive terms that target any people or groups.
  • We will not post comments that are clearly off-topic, promote services or products, or make unsupported claims.
  • We will post comments only from people who use a plausible name (not an alias or nickname). If we get a comment that uses an alias, we will change it to “anonymous.”
  • We will not post links or references to other private sites or blogs.

We ask that reporters send questions to the NIAID Media Office and refrain from submitting questions here as comments.

Because the web is a 24/7 medium, your comments are welcome at any time. Given that we must manage federal resources effectively, we will review comments and post them during business hours, Eastern time, Monday through Friday. We will read and post comments submitted at other times during the next business day.

To protect your own privacy and the privacy of others, please do not include phone numbers or email addresses in the body of your comment. Please view our NIAID social media comment policy for more information.
