About
The SERFC Journal is a service of the National Weather Service’s Southeast River Forecast Center (SERFC) located in Peachtree City, Georgia.
The SERFC is responsible for providing river forecasts and water resources information to customers in Southern Virginia, North and South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Puerto Rico, and a part of Mississippi.
The SERFC Journal is usually issued 1 to 3 times a week. It is issued by Hydrologist in Charge John Feldt and reflects his professional hydrometeorological opinion and expertise. Posts of the SERFC Journal will typically describe the latest hydrometeorological situation across the Southeast U.S. or some interesting aspect of weather, water, or climate. The focus of the SERFC Journal will clearly align towards hydrology, hydrometeorology, water resources, or climate as it relates to water resources. It will usually not discuss in depth other weather aspects such as severe thunderstorms, tornadoes, or winter weather.
Since the SERFC Journal is issued on an irregular basis, you can subscribe for notices of a new issuance. To subscribe for these notices, or to unsubscribe, go the following location:

You might also want to consider subscribing to the bi-weekly Water Resources Outlooks which describe the outlooks for Southeast U.S. water resources in a multi-media format, or to individual state ALERTS which provide information on excessive rainfall or the potential for flooding.
If you have any questions about the SERFC Journal contact John Feldt (john.feldt@noaa.gov). We always welcome comments or suggestions on how we can improve the SERFC Journal or any other SERFC product or service.
