Blog Purpose and Goals

Welcome to NOAA’s Colorado Basin River Forecast Center (CBRFC)! CBRFC forecasts streamflow for the Colorado and eastern Great Basins. Forecasts range from seasonal water supply forecasts used in water management to short fused flood forecasts when water is high. This blog is a forum for discussing the hydrology of the basin. The blog will be active typically between December and June and if there is flooding or events of interest during the rest of the year. We don’t intend this blog to supersede any forecasts posted on our website (www.cbrfc.noaa.gov), but rather to augment those forecasts with discussion.

This is also an opportunity to hear from you. Since we are part of the government, there are some rules about comments on the blog. These are spelled out here: www.weather.gov/disclaimer.php#commenting_policy.
